Abstract: India's ambitious nuclear energy program rests on the solid foundations of cutting edge basic science research and state-of-the-art engineering innovations. There is plenty to offer for innovative minds pursuing (nearly all) the branches of sciences and engineering. Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India is an excellent place to practice research, indulge in frontline national/ international R&D projects, get involved in various stages of nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear power plants thereby leading to new innovations through discoveries/ innovations and simultaneously taking a satisfying part in empowering the nation through technology, improving quality of life of citizens, making India energy independent, meeting the net-zero target, contributing to climate control, food, agriculture, healthcare, national security and building mega science facilities. During the interaction, I will try to give a glimpse of various programs of DAE where you may contribute and the process to be followed to become a member of the prestigious nuclear energy family of India.
