About the talk: CPHS encompasses a vast amount of data, which can be transformed into meaningful information through careful handling and analysis. The session is aimed to guide the researchers through the essential steps in data handling which would help them in unleashing the potential of the data within. It would touch upon -

1. Accessing data: Understanding the URL, Format, and Frequency of release
2. Dumping data: Manual / Automated script
3. Storing data: R Data archive system or Database (SQL / Access)
4. Basics of estimation: Comprhending key fields like weights/design
5. Generating population estimates: Step by Step execution in R

Mr. Pramod Sinha
Fellow, NIPFP
New Delhi

Bio: Pramod Sinha presently serves as a Fellow at NIPFP in New Delhi. His research experise spans various areas, including business cycles, national income accounts, and corporate finance and accounting. Notably, he has garnered recognition for his work through acclaimed publications in scopus indexed journals, particularly in the realm of measurement issues concerning national accounts and firm performance. Additionally, he has been a regular columnist and his articles/blogs have featured on prestigious platforms like Ideas for India, EPW, The Print among others. In addition to his research endeavours, he has been actively engaged in sharing knowledge and expertise. He has taught 'R' programming language at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi besides conducting workshops at IIT Kanpur, offering guidance to Ph.D. students.
